KDB10LT

Territory covered by KDB10LT midi level

General Information

Cartographic data base of the Lithuanian topographic map KDB10LT at scale 1:10000 for this moment in full content (midi level) covers Kaišiadorys, Elektrėnai, Trakai and Vilnius city municipality also Marijampolė city territories (4100 square meters) . Data base consists of 279 map sheets according to the State territory map sheet division scheme and numbering.

Data

Data compilation is devided to stages, that are named as KDB10LT levels. This division is done for the purpose of making Lithuanian territory coverage with digital cartographic data faster. There are three KDB10LT data storage levels foreseen:

  • The first KDB10LT level – only the most necessary information stored with maximum expedition. This information is used for solving simple cartographic tasks when the completeness of data (mostly attribute information ) is not so important. This level is conditionally named as mini level. This level is conditionally named as micro level as it is not completely created for this moment. KDB10LT of the lowest category is called the georeference background of the Republic of Lithuania, that consists of particular micro level data layers.

  • The second KDB10LT level – consists of the data stored in the first KDB10LT level where the addition graphic and attribute information is added so that it was possible to publish a topographic map at scale 1:10000 according to TOP10LT requirements. This level is the main KDB10LT level. It is conditionally named as a midi level.

  • The third KDB10LT level – consists of the data stored in the second KDB10LT level, where additional graphic and attribute information is added so that geodata would come along with the highest TOP10LT requirements for the topographic map at scale 1:10000.

Mathematical Background

Mathematical background of KDB10LT comes along with the statements of the resolution No 936 published by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on the 30th of September 1994:

  • co-ordinate system LKS-94;
  • map sheet division scheme and indexes in LKS-94 (2782 map sheets).

Application range

The main purpose of KDB10LT is to present cartographic background for particular scale maps:

  • topographic maps, in case when only geoinformation stored in this KDB is used;
  • thematic maps, in case when person, that compile a map adds his own thematic geoinformation to KDB10LT layers.

KDB10LT also can be used for cadaster and register care, for general and special plans of municiplaities, transport network organization, logistics, justice system, military purposes, security and crisis prevention tasks to solve. KDB10LT also can be used for smaller scale KDB creation and update.

Assignement clauses

Cartographic data base KDB10LT is assigned in standard map sheets according to the national 1:10000 scale map sheet division scheme and numbering – LKS94.

KDB10LT vector data are assigned in ArcInfor layers. KDB10LT data can be recalculated to other co-ordinate systems, they can be mapjoined, converted and assigned in different formats upon a separate agreement.
