General information

Šiauliai City Vector Data Base VDB10-Šiauliai covers the whole territory of the city and surrounding territories, completely filling map sheets at scale 1:10000, that have format size parameters based on the State map sheet division scheme LKS-94. One map sheet of this scheme covers the territory of 25 square kilometers. There is total of 9 map sheets (225 square kilometers), that are mapjoined to an overall set.

VDB10-Šiauliai geodata information layers and geoobjects codes were compiled according to the following documents: 

1. KDB10LT Specification (“Cartographic Data Base of the Lithuanian Topographic Map KDB10LT at scale 1:10000” Version 2.0). National Service of Geodesy and Cartography under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. “Aerial Geodesy Institute” Joint Stock Company.Vilnius-Kaunas 1998);

2. Regulation of Technical Requirements for Topographic Maps at scale 1:10000 GKTR 2.02.02.:1999 “Content, Codes and Legend Marks of Topographic Map at scale 1:10000”.

Digital elevation model was created by using vector relief information (contour lines, elevation points, water level marks). It covers all 9 map sheets. Additional lines, that express relief were used for generating the model. These lines are the contours of closed water objects, that have water level marks.

VDB10-Šiauliai base is open for any data addition.

Mathematical background

Geoinformation data base VDB10-Šiauliai is based on the Lithuanian co-ordinate system of 1994, that is named LKS-94. Relief is prepared in the Baltic height system.

Application range

Data can be used as the georeference background for city geoinformation systems, for the general city plan, digital map creation, also this data can be used for cadaster and register care, for works of various agencies. Vector data can be used as attribute or graphic information.

Assignement clauses

VDB10-Šiauliai is assigned in the following way:

• for the whole territory of Šiauliai city;
• for separate information layers’ groups.

VDB10-Šiauliai is assigned in SHAPE format layers. VDB10-Šiauliai data can be recalculated to other co-ordinate systems, converted and assigned in different formats upon a separate agreement.

The copyright of VDB10-Šiauliai belongs to the State Enterprise National Center of Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics “GIS-Centras”. The number of licences, disposal possibilities and copyright for VDB10-Šiauliai is regulated by the licence agreement between the State Enterprise “GIS-Centras” and the User.

Prices

Price for the licence of Šiauliai City Vector Data Base VDB10-Šiauliai (for one work place) is 4500 Litas (LTL). Prices for VDB10-Šiauliai basic licence (for one work place) for information layers groups are the the following:

Licences for VDB10-Šiauliai, that are used for non commercial purposes, are assigned with the following discounts:

• for the State institutions – 30%;
• for scientific institutions – 50%;
• for educational institutions – 80%.
