General information

Geoinformation Data Base (GDB) for Eastern and Northern Europe at scale 1:1000000 was created in 1998 and it is constatntly revised and updtaed with the help of most modern cartographic solutions, space images, statistic data. It consists of most important data layers and couple of specific layers. This data base store such information as classified populated places and other specific data, that earlier were inaccessible. Geographic names are presented in original language. Structure of the data base allows to add new vector and attribute information.

Data

GDB for Eastern and Northern Europe at scale 1:1000000 contains the following objects: populated places, large built up areas, administrative and territorial division, hydrography, roads, railroads, seaports, airports, national parks, nature reserves, swamps, hypsography, foreshore objects, historic locations and natural areas, famous objects of culture and nature.

Application range

GDB for Eastern and Northern Europe at scale 1:1000000 can be used as the base map for other GIS systems, where any other information can be localized and clearly presented for the user. Various additional thematic information can be added to this data base.

Assignement clauses

Data base is assigned in ETRS-89 (LKS-92) and LKS-94 co-ordinate systems.

GDB for Eastern and Northern Europe at scale 1:1000000 is assigned in SHAPE data format. Data is provided in separate layers. Data can be recalculated to other co-ordinate systems, mapjoined, converted and assigned in different formats upon a separate agreement.

The copyright of GDB for Eastern and Northern Europe at scale 1:1000000 belongs to the publishing house “Jāņa sēta”. State Enterprise “GIS-Centras” is the official distributor for raster maps of the publishing house “Jāņa sēta” in Lithuania. GDB for Eastern and Northern Europe at scale 1:1000000 geodata is assigned for the users after signing licence agreement with the State Enterprise “GIS-Centras”.
